actively trying to ruin his life, as in with explicit malicious intent?
Avatar
Iam offering help fighting fire with fire, and using energy to trap them.
11:45 PM
Yes.
11:46 PM
There are times when HE's possessed by them.
11:46 PM
He's too trusting.
Avatar
Quite honestly, that sounds like reason for arbitration.
Avatar
Um, maybe this is more fit for #metaphysics if you are using energy and things like that to trap them?
Avatar
Okay.
Avatar
But, ah well. We aren't precisely the right place for help with the vivid imaginations of tibetan tulpas (to put it very simply). #metaphysics would definitely be the right channel for discussion of "sending energy" and similar, unless you wish to provide some demonstration or a method of testing this "energy sending".
Avatar
Thanks guys moving to metaphyics
Avatar
Take care.

Are sexual relationships with tulpa possible? I've always wanted tó know.
Avatar
...yes, though certainly not recommended until they have reached the point of autonomous independence (as much as is possible with the brain).
Avatar
In other words, to the point where it isn't likely to become their personality, and equally importantly - to the point where they can give informed consent.
Avatar
Or, put in a different framing, yeah if you can masturbate you can fuck your tulpa, but like
12:17 AM
Why
Avatar
This came at the worst time I swear
Avatar
If your tulpa isn't developed, it's no different from masturbation, and if they are, it's only different in terms of how it affects your relationship with your tulpa
12:19 AM
I'd personally rather find different sources of erotic pleasure. Sources that aren't basically part of myself.
Avatar
Well, I do think some people also have wonderland sex, where they try to immerse themselves.
Avatar
I do generally attempt to avoid narcissistic things like that.
12:19 AM
Yeah, but again that's just masturbating from imagination.
Avatar
Normal people do that all the time.
Avatar
That is true.
Avatar
... Are there non ThaibetiAn tulpa?
Avatar
All of them.
12:27 AM
Tibetan monks generally don't discuss dragon maids online.
12:30 AM
But if you mean tulpas that don't derive from the Tibetan tradition
12:30 AM
I'd still say all of them.
12:31 AM
It's pretty much a given that the tulpa community doesn't actually lean much on any sort of Tibetan theology/ideology/whatever with respect to tulpas.
12:31 AM
Tulpas are imaginary friends that you treat as sentient beings, and after awhile you start perceiving them as sentient beings.
12:32 AM
Pretty simple, doesn't need hundreds of thousands of years of historical backlog to be accounted for. (edited)
Avatar
Right. So my child self's imaginary friends could still be Around?
Avatar
Indeed. Then there are tulpas as presented here.
12:34 AM
With the tibetan tulpa idea of imagining the thing until you believe it physically exists, yes.
Avatar
Yeah your imaginary childhood friends could be considered tulpas if you took time to trick yourself into perceiving them as tulpas.
Avatar
As for them becoming tulpas in the way that this community typically views them... Not so much. They could perhaps have some basis in what you remember of them, but almost certainly would not be the same persistent thing if it has been more than just a couple years since then.
12:35 AM
I'll be back later.
Avatar
I doubt their childhood imaginary friends were consistent or persistent. (edited)
Avatar
an imaginary friend can become a tulpa just as a servitor can
Avatar
Thanks. I didn't know servitors could become tulpa.
Avatar
They're all labels.
12:51 AM
Labels for thought-things that have very fuzzy borders.
12:51 AM
I'd focus more on cultivating interesting and developed experiences.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:00 AM
My form of tulpa creation is through roleplaying. Is fictional character Also a label?
Avatar
...yes.
Avatar
I would advise against rp as a method.
Avatar
That said, to be clear. Roleplay characters are not tulpas.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:01 AM
Why is this Sous?
Avatar
You don't get to develop yourself if you're beholden to others.
1:02 AM
Tulpas are a way to get super incredible experiences alone that you could never get any other way.
1:02 AM
You can always rp as an anime girl.
Avatar
This is why I pointed out that our definitions are extremely likely to be different - tulpas, here, are thought of as independent (as far as possible), not simply the host pretending.
Avatar
You can't always explore your mind.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:03 AM
I feel that my tulpas haven't grown from my experiences also. I believe that they need others to understand how a society functions.
Avatar
There is nothing at all wrong with roleplay. But, equating it to tulpas can be quite insulting when there are tulpas that are independent and acting of their own volition.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:04 AM
My tulpas have free will.
1:05 AM
I created them through forcing then inserted them into roleplays so they could experience people.
Avatar
That's a common thing and I personally am against it mostly because there are v few decent tulpas out there, and so your tulpa will learn from sock-puppets at worst and stunted tulpas at best.
1:07 AM
But I am probably a bit under the mark on that.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:08 AM
This does explain their views on others.
Avatar
Keep in mind as well, the brain is finite. Simultaneous consciousness is not... Really possible - at minimum, with "simultaneous" conscious tasks, its capability is split up literally (something like 100% on one task, 47% each on two, 30% each on three, etc.)
1:10 AM
So, the more tulpas - the less possibility for development.
1:11 AM
Those percentages are naturally guesswork on proportions to get the point across.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:11 AM
Yeah. I've ran into that a few times.
Avatar
Plus overhead and the technicality that it isn't 30% but it's 80% in one second to task one, and 80% to a second task in the second second
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:11 AM
I won't be needing anymore tulpa.
Avatar
that's what you think
1:12 AM
I've got a whole discount ebay tulpa shop with many options to sell. Free astral projection delivery.
Avatar
Yes, Reguile - that is definitely more accurate. I was just explaining it in a way that people typically find a bit easier to understand.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:12 AM
Was that for me? @salad
Avatar
...at least, that I've found.
Avatar
he has 100 tulpas, I don't think he needs any more
Avatar
I think it was a joke.
1:13 AM
I hope it was a joke.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:13 AM
It wasn't.
Avatar
Of course it was
Avatar
just don't say "I'm happy and I don't need my tulpas anymore" or they go away
1:14 AM
Avatar
Lyra/ hah, with my tulpas it will be "I'm happy and don't need my host anymore"
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:15 AM
When i was a teen I had power fantasies. So I imagined myself a nation.
Avatar
That would explain it, then.
Avatar
V∆L-H∆L8 5/26/2018 1:15 AM
I'll never leave my tulpas,
1:16 AM
Without them I would not be socialble
Avatar
I'm quite concerned for someone I know. This person has no prior knowledge about anything tulpa related, no history of mental health issues... they said a quote 'evil' person popped in their head, fighting them for control. They are resisting it, but it's said to be extremely powerful. If there's anyone that maybe knows of a similar situation and could help explain it to me, I'd be much appreciative.
3:24 AM
I'm just worried for my friend, and I believe it is something to do with tulpas, or supernatural, I don't know.
Avatar
could be DID
Avatar
I thought of that, odd that they've had no mental illness all their life though, and out of nowhere this comes up.
3:26 AM
They said it's extremely scary and they live in fear right now.
Avatar
[Idk dude. Im not trying to be a dick, but uh, I would tell your friend he needs a doctor cause that's not normal lol]
Avatar
Yeah, I know.
Avatar
[yeah dude mental illness doesnt have to start at childhood or whatever]
Avatar
I'm just asking this community because it's not full of people who'd dismiss it right away. Possibly could provide good input.
Avatar
[like schizophrenia usually dont show up until like 20-30 normally]
Avatar
@Barrien Agreed - please do suggest they see someone who is a mental health professional and accredited with being able to genuinely help with this.
Avatar
[could be completely fine before that]
Avatar
Nobody here can give a serious diagnosis or serious mental health advice based on textual descriptions, especially second-hand ones.
